Good evening, this is Megan Conrow the Superintendent at Beaverhead County High School with an important announcement about our upcoming community service day and ½ day for students. As indicated on our school calendar, Wednesday, May 7 is a staff development day for staff. What this means for students and families is that students will only attend classes in the morning on Wednesday, May 7. Students will attend their 1, 5, 6, and 7 period classes before being released at 11:55 AM. Busses on this day will run their normal schedule at 3:30 PM.
Also on this day our junior and senior students will be participating in our annual community service day. Juniors and seniors will be released with their teacher advisor to report to their community service areas at 9:45 AM where they will work in the community until 11:55 AM. Freshmen and sophomores will attend their regularly scheduled classes. I sent an email earlier in the week with more specific details about the community service day. As a reminder, it is important that juniors and seniors dress in work clothing that can get dirty and that they wear closed-toed shoes. Because the weather is supposed to be warm by the time we finish, it will be important for students to have water and use sunscreen. If you have any questions, please call the main office during regular business hours.
Below is the Community Service email I sent out earlier in the week.
Hello BCHS Families,

Also, on this day we are doing our annual Community Service Day for our Juniors and Seniors. Juniors and Seniors will be released at the end of their 5th period class to meet their school academy group where they will get their instructions for what they will be doing for community service. Looking ahead it looks like the weather is going to be nice but it will be important for our students to dress in layers on this day. Students should also bring and use sunscreen.
