Thanks for dropping by!! My name is Sandy Rice and this is my 23rd year at BCHS. This year I am in both the Skills Lab and the special ed department. I have a bachelors degree in secondary education with a major in business and a minor in physical education/health. My husband, Mel, and I have been married for 43 years and have two grown children. Chad is 36 and is currently teaching high school art in Fernley, Nevada. He is an artist and photographer and plays in a band in the area. Kyla is 33 years old. She teaches 2nd grade at the American School of Bombay in Mumbai, India. She is traveling a lot and really seeing the world.

I love the outdoors and spend my spare time fishing, hiking, camping, snowshoeing and traveling. I've been lucky to have seen the wild animals of South Africa, canals of Amsterdam, snorkeled in the Caribbean Sea and on the Great Barrier Reef of Australia, fished for halibut in Alaska, sturgeon on the Columbia River and shark in Mexico. We've seen the Panama Canal and traveled on three different rivers in the Amazonas in Venezuela, experiencing life with the indigenous tribes. We have ventured to the Mayan ruins in Mexico and several cinotes, the natural sinkholes, on the Yucatan Peninsula.

Last spring we added India to our list of travels. We experienced the huge city of Mumbai and the beautiful mountainous regions of Magahlia state near the border of Bangladesh. There are still lots of things on my bucket list!!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sandy Rice
